Feelings

The sadness that hits me is debilitating. My breathing is labored and my thoughts race. My stomach begins to ache and my tears want to fall. They don’t fall. I’ve trained myself over the years to no longer let them fall. I’m tired now. So tired. I’m defeated and exhausted. When I think about all the years that I’ve spent here it just makes me seem hopeless and less of a person than I truly am. I no longer find joy in things I once did. Nothing has meaning. I just exist from day to day. People say change it. How? I need a step by step guide. Tell me. Oh but they don’t know. They can’t tell me how. They have never been here in this dark lonely place. They can only judge and give advice from afar. I don’t need you to tell me what I already know.

Those That Inspire

As I sit here pool side at our hotel reading and working. I glance up periodically to ensure the kids are okay. Yes, I am THAT mom. Always watching and worrying!

I glance up to see a most humbling sight. My boys are sitting in the hot tub with a couple of older boys. I notice my son looking at these boys intently, which means whatever they are saying he is being sure to capture every word. He loves sports and he has a drive to be better and better at anything he does.

He is listening intently so I know he is learning. I’m humbled that these older boys are taking the time to answer questions and offer suggestions to these young eager boys. They realize the value of their words (or at least I hope they do) and the lasting impact it will have.

In this world we live in today, we are so rushed and forget to slow down and realize just who is watching.

Thank you to those two young men for taking time out of your day to spend with these boys. I know your moms would be proud! 😊

People

I have always said, once I became an adult that I don’t like people. Well adult people anyway. Children are the most amazing people! 😊

Well I realized today, that it is not people that I do not like, but the complete and utter lack of consideration for others! I absolutely detest how “entitled” people think they are in this day and time. It’s ridiculous!

People will stand in the way and run flat over you as if you are not even there! They have no decency and are completely unapologetic for their lack of respect!

I will tell you now as we sit down here pool side in our hotel, my son and his friend were playing with the football. Here comes this blatantly obnoxious kid and his two brothers. They just jump in front of my son as he is throwing the ball. Seriously?? The equally obnoxious mom is sitting there glancing my way, I suppose to gauge my irritation with her disrespectful spawn! Ugghh people!!

Rant over! Stepping off my soap box. Just another day with my Family Fumbles….😉

Butter

Epic mom fail here y’all!

So, my daughter had an eye appointment in another town on Wednesday. The appointment was at 8:35 and we left our town which is about a 50 minute drive away, at around 7:50 ish. My daughter calls the place about 8:15 to tell them we would be late. The receptionist tells us we may have to reschedule. She tells us to wait and when she gets back on the phone she said we could come at 9:45.

We decided to go to IHOP for breakfast since we now had some time to kill. My son who is the pickiest ever…first he wanted nothing. Then decided on a pancake and apple sauce.

Once our food came out I noticed he was eating all around the butter on his pancake. He usually requests no butter and will not eat syrup. I assumed he wasn’t going to the eat the butter so I dipped my toast in it!! The tears fell and he threw himself onto the seat and covered his head. I tried apologizing and he responded that he was saving it for the last!!

Y’all I laughed. Not on purpose…but I laughed!!

Welcome to my crazy Family Fumbles!!!

Family Fumbles

We are a football family, and in football fumbles happen. Well…in life fumbles happen too!

This blog will provide readers with an opportunity to see how crazy, busy, exciting, disappointing and beautiful life can be.

I’ve had a desire to write a blog for many years but was always so hesitant about posting my content for anyone and everyone to see and read!

When deciding what to officially write, well I decided that I would write about my life and my family. We have many “interesting” moments I’m sure any parent can relate to their own life at one point or another.

So, happy reading and if you like what you read give it a share and comment a shout-out!

I’m off to live life and record more of my Family Fumbles!!

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus your own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
